L’Ajuntament de Vilassar de Mar i la companyia subministradora de l’aigua al municipi, Aigües de Vilassar, SLU, han tornat a signar un nou conveni de suport a famílies amb dificultats socioecòmiques amb l’objectiu d’ajudar a les que tenen dificultats per afrontar el pagament dels rebuts de l’aigua. Enguany l’aportació d’Aigües de Vilassar serà de 5.000 euros, 1.000 euros més que l’any anterior. Durant el 2015 els Serveis Socials Municipals van destinar 10.217,93 euros a ajudar a 87 famílies que no podien pagar la factura de l’aigua, 4.000 euros dels quals provenien d’aquest conveni, signat per primera vegada el 2014 amb una aportació de 2.000 euros.
De nou, serà el departament de Serveis Socials del consistori qui establirà els criteris pels quals una família podrà obtenir l’ajut per pagar el rebut de l’aigua. Aquesta ajuda s’afegeix a les que ja presta l’Ajuntament a través dels Serveis Socials Municipals dedicant una part del pressupost en concepte d’ajuts d’emergència per subministraments bàsics (aigua, llum i gas), ajuts que pretenen evitar els talls de subministraments i donar un suport econòmic a les famílies amb més dificultats. L’any 2015, l’Ajuntament va destinar 56.883,75 euros a ajuts per subministraments, que corresponen a 1.854 persones beneficiàries.
